Judicial Interviews for 20th Judicial District, General District Court

The Judicial Selection Committee of the Loudoun Chapter, pursuant to the By‐Laws of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association (“VWAA”), hereby gives notice of the judicial selection process for the vacancies in the 20th Judicial District, General District Court. 

Candidates interested in applying for the vacancies are asked, if they have not already done so, to send, via email, an advisory of their intent to apply to the Committee Chair, Rachel Robinson, at, no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 27, 2019

Candidates must then complete and electronically submit to, Rachel Robinson, a signed VWAA Judicial Candidate Questionnaire no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 29, 2019. Please also download or print the Questionnaire and email it to all of the Committee members

Upon submission to the Committee of a completed VWAA questionnaire, candidates will be contacted by the Committee to set an interview. Interviews will be held on December 2, 2019, at the Law Offices of Alex Levay, P.L.L.C, 23 North King Street, Leesburg, VA 20176.

We encourange all candidates for this vacancy to participate in this VWAA process.

Prince William Chapter Judicial Review Panel

The VWAA will convene a  Judicial Screening Committee panel to review candidates seeking appointment to the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, Thirty-First Circuit of Virginia, as a result of the two retirement vacancies. All persons wishing to be considered for a potential vacancy on this court should also complete and return the questionnaire.

The VWAA Judicial Candidates Questionnaire may be completed online or downloaded.

Candidates must complete and submit the Questionnaire on or before November 15, 2019 either electronically, by mail or by e-mail as below. Submission instructions are contained within the questionnaire. Candidates also should submit a resume and writing sample with their candidate questionnaire. The VWAA will interview candidates on November 22, 2019 at the office of Carluzzo, Rochkind & Smith, 9300 West Courthouse Rd, Manassas, VA 20110. Results of US District Court for the Eastern District of VA Interviews

Between October 10 and 11, 2019 the VWAA's Judicial Screening Committee interviewed seventeen candidates for the vacancy on the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, occasioned by Judge Rebecca Beach Smith's decision to take senior status as of August 1, 2019. The results of the screening interviews and additional information about each candidate can be found in the letter issued by the Virginia Women Attorneys Association on October 21, 2019.
